A student-founded club recycling legos into quality toys and math games for children in underserved communities

We Are Future Builders/Race to 100 - Bringing Math and Play to all Children — project cover

We believe that all children have the right to access quality toys regardless of economic status. As a student-founded and led school club, Our recycled Lego Kits have been donated to children on 5 continents in countries such as Syria, Tanzania, and Guatemala, and in both rural and inner-city communities in the United States. Club members sort donated lego pieces and repurpose them into thoughtful kits that encourage creative play and problem solving. Our student-created math game, Race to 100, teaches children fundamental math skills through a fun, anxiety-free methodology, offering an alternative way to learn what is often a stressful subject. We will be holding a "Race to donate 100" event in November 2026 in order to reach our goal of donating one hundred Race to 100 math games during the 2026 holiday season to children in Maine and the city of Chicago facing difficult economic and educational challenges.
